TKH Update: Game 22 7th Heaven

Excerpt from TKH Website: New signings showing face: Zeeker Casillas in goal, Hermie Fabregas the spanish starlet, Sameer Nasri the new young French prodigy, Fadzil Pepe and lightning fast Roy da Silva.

Notable absentees were Bill Shankly( just touched down, jetlag), Zahari Cicinho ( meeting with agent), Faizal Cannavaro ( injured ) and Zulhairy Robson ( uni orientation).

Weather threathened early before the game, otherwise good conditions. Pitch was a bitch just like Stamford Bridge. Potholes everywhere.

Opponents were like Czech Republic, gansgster looking matrip habis with some foreign Chinese imports.haha!

So anyways game started brightly with Khairul Keane in the middle of the park controlling play.
Arip Toure and Wan Nesta marshalled the back four superbly, limiting the opponents to long shots.

Zulhikam Ronaldo and Roy da Silva waiting in the wings to burst down the flanks.
Phyz Rooney and Sameer Nasri frustating the defence with their workrate. Ahmad Raul was the key playmaker causing trouble all the time.

First half score 5-0. Goals by Ahmad Raul (2), Phyz broke his dry spell by scoring a delightful chip, Sameer and Hermie with their first goals for the club.

Normal service resumed in the 2nd half with Khairul Keane scoring, playing as the target man upfront. Yusry scored a fluke goal, off a dummy from Khairul and we set down to play our passing game.

Overall, it was a good game. The turnout was good, could have been much better though. With turnouts like this, hopefully we could have regular monthly games.

Delighted to see the new faces gelling in nicely with our regulars. Never an awkward moment.

Latest update. Al Capitan will sit down and settle contract matters with Sameer Nasri. Will try to tie him down for a lifetime cotract before Arsenal grabs him.

PS: By the way, this is our first clean sheet in sooo many games. Credit has to be given to our not forgotten veteran, Ruddie Barthez, a calm example in goal for many to follow..Gathering for Pre-match Team-talk

And so it is, we won by a final score of 8-0. Personally, I was pleased with my own performance, as I haven't linked up with TKH for 2-3 months already. Furthermore, we had 4 new players in the team who needed to gel in with our style of play.

I started the game at right-wing, swapping with Roy on the left-wing on several occasions in the game to confuse our opponents and provide a different threat.
I didn't score any goals, though I had at least 5 chances, one of which hit the post and a driven shot ('Rembat') which the keeper did well to save from point-blank range. And I provided 2 assists! So I'm quite happy with that. Long may TKH continue to win with such style!

Metropolis Part 2 - Scene Six: Home

Metropolis Part 2 - Scene Six: Home

[Sleeper:]

Shine - lake of fire
Lines - take me higher
My mind drips desire
Confined and overtired

Living this charade
Is getting me nowhere
I can`t shake this charade
The city`s cold blood calls me Home
Home it`s what I long for
Back Home... where I belong

The city - it calls to me
Decadent scenes from my memory
Sorrow - eternity
My demons are coming to drown me

Help - I`m falling, I`m crawling
I can`t keep away from its clutch
Can`t have it, this habit
It`s calling me back to my Home

[Miracle:]
I remember the first time she came to me
Poured her soul out all night and cried

I remember I was told there`s a new love that`s born
For each one that has died

I never thought that I
Could carry on with this life
But I can`t resist myself
No matter how hard I try

Living their other life
Is getting them nowhere
I`ll make her my wife
Her sweet temptations calls me home
Home it`s what I long for
My Home... where she belongs

Her ecstasy - means so much to me
Even deceiving my own blood
Victoria watches and thoughtfully smiles
She`s taking me to my home

Help - he`s my brother, but I love her
I can`t keep away from her touch
Deception, dishonor
It`s calling me back to my Home

[N:]
Her story - it holds the key
Unlocking dreams from my memory
Solving this mystery
Is everything that is a part of me

Help - regression, obsession
I can`t keep away from her touch
Leave no doubt, to find out
It`s calling me back to my Home

Metropolis Part 1 - "The Miracle And The Sleeper"

Metropolis Part 1 - "The Miracle And The Sleeper"

The smile of dawn
Arrived early May
She carried a gift from her
home
The night shed a tear
To tell her of fear
And of sorrow and pain
She'll never outgrow

Death is the first dance, eternal

There's no more freedom
The both of you will be
confined to this mind

I was told there's a miracle for
each day that I try
I was told there's a new love
that's born for each one that
has died
I was told there'd be no one to
call on when I feel alone and
afraid
I was told if you dream of the
next world
You'll find yourself swimming
in a lake of fire

As a child, I thought I could
live without pain, without
sorrow
As a man I've found it's all
caught up with me
I'm asleep yet I'm so afraid

Somewhere like a scene from a
memory
There's a picture worth a
thousand words
Eluding stares from faces
before me
It hides away and will never be
heard of again

Deceit is the second without end

The city's cold blood teaches us
to survive
Just keep my heart in your eyes
and we'll stay alive

The third arrives...

Before the leaves have fallen
Before we lock the doors
There must be the third and
last dance
This one will last forever
Metropolis watches and
thoughtfully smiles
She's taken you to your home

It can only take place
When the struggle between
our children has ended
Now the Miracle and the
Sleeper know that the third
is love

Love is the Dance of Eternity

Turtleneck

Never, EVER, do a physical activity from a cold start with no warm-up exercises... I learnt it the hard way.

My recruits had Combat Physical Training, and one of these exercises involves a chin-up regime. So, wanting to keep my fitness level high 'cos I had to clear my IPPT by the end of this month anyway (See Fizah?I WASN'T showing off), I decided to pull me some ups too.

Now hear this: A few days back, I woke up from sleep with a stiff neck, and it hasn't quite recovered yet. That was why I was struggling to do my chin-ups, what with the pain in my shoulders. However, I soldiered on, wanting to push myself through the pain barrier. Unfortunately, at the 9th chin-up, I felt something shift in my neck/back muscles that immediately led to me releasing my grip on the chin-up bar and left me bent over the floor and whimpering like a girl (no offence girls). The pain was incredibly excruciating, like nothing I've ever felt before. I immediately reported sick at the Medical Centre, and was given some painkilling pills, cooling gel, a 2-day MC and was excused from upper-limb activities for a week, with the diagnosis being that I had suffered a muscle strain from my neck all the way down to my upper back.

I was really struggling at this point in time, with every slight movement and sneeze/cough triggering a sharp pain. My mobility and dexterity of movement was also badly affected, I could barely turn my head a few degrees left and right. Even getting up from a lying position was torturous. As soon as I left Tekong, I headed for my uncle Ustaz Massba's house for an urut session. After giving my entire body the once-over, he said that most of my body's muscles were tegang, and I should go for individual body maintenance more often. "Send it for servicing", so to speak. Later on that afternoon, my dad insisted on bringing me over to CGH's A&E Department for further checks. The end result of it all is that I got a painkilling jab in the left arm, an additional day's MC, and a neck brace that left me looking like...well, a turtle. According to Fizah anyway. Don't u believe a word of it.

Whadcha lookin' at, Buster?
Hurts like Hell

The Adventures of Tintin

Finally! Night's off!!! At long last, I have the chance to book out after almost 2 weeks in camp, which sucks very. Especially since I missed my sister giving birth, and now I've finally got the chance to visit her and feast my eyes on babyy.

And what a babby! He's so fair and tembam. Abit of my sis and BIL indeed. My sister is so fair... I wonder if he will follow my sis. In which case his complexion when he grows up is gonna look something like MINE O_O !!! And and... he has spiky Tintin hair, goodness barely a day old and already a nice jambol crowns his little head. Kinda looks like the hairstyle I'm sporting now. Really Uncle Ikam's nephew seh. Fella likes to pout his lips, I don't know what's the deal with that, but when I arrived he was asleep... and remained that way till it was time for me to leave. Only after that then he cared to open an eye and wake up. Geez. And STRANGELY, HILMI DOESN'T EXHIBIT QUITE THE SAME ENTHUSIASM AND INTEREST TOWARDS 'AQIL AS HE DID TOWARDS SAY, BABY GIRLS 0_0 Lookin' forward to this Sunday when my sis is already discharged from hospital and I can play with him at home once I book out =)

Selamatz ah Uncle Ikam, with a nephew's birthday each in May (Hilmi), June ('Aqil) and July (Fikri). Must start saving money come the mid-years 0_0

Yet another Zul???

ALHAMDULILLAH. My only sis has successfully delivered her first son, and both mother and son are healthy and in good health =) Baby is a CUTIE-PIE! *Snookums snookums cherry candy the new apple of my eye!* Oookay enough of the baby talk. Baby is the perfect birthday present for me, and Father's Day present for both my bro-in-law and my dad! =) Alamak but baby decided to delay his appearance abit, so out he popped out from my sister at around 11:50 am this morning, the 16th of June, just one day too late for my liking. Hmpz. I woke up to an SMS from my dad saying that my sis had been admitted to hospital at around midnight yesterday, and I got an excited call from my flustered mum at ard 12:20 pm. I was so incredibly high on morale, I was almost skipping as I walked. Now THAT is something that you don't get to see from me very often. Anyways, for those who SMS-ed me wondering if he's gonna be another Zul, well all I can say is...

WELCOME TO THE WORLD, 'AQIL ZHAFIR!*

Or as how Fikri says it, 'AQIL GARFIELD. Ah yes, as you can see, he's the first directly related male in my family not be prefixed a 'Zul' as a moniker. Haha. According to my mom, my sister said she only wants the boy children from the boys in my family to be given a Zul. I guess my sis wants to start a new tradition of her own with the prefix "'A", since her name is 'Ainul Husna. Anyway ALAMAKKK, I don't have the pictures to post la, I have it in my phone but no way to transfer it to the computer so that would have to wait. And for those wondering, the male genes is strong in my family, at least for this current generation. My 3rd nephew already! And that's not counting the other 3 nephews from my cousin's marriage. All of us just can't wait for the first baby girl we are to be blessed with =) And for a list of similar names inspired by Zul's and 'Ainul's in my family, here goes...

Zullkefle (Father)
Zul'Irfan (Brother) - Zulfikri (Nephew) - Zulhilmi (Nephew)
Zul Ikmal (Brother)
Zulhikam (Moi)

As for the ladies, in order of age...

'Ainul Husna (Sister)
'Ainul Hikmah (Cousin)
'Ainul Rushdah (Cousin)
'Ainul 'Aqilah (Cousin)
'Ainul Ilmah (Cousin)
'Ainul Syuhadah (Family friend's daughter)

I can't wait to book out to meet my new nephew!!! =) =) =)

Middle of the month, Middle of the Year

Yes, the official mid-point of the year has come and gone...and so has my birthday. For the 2nd consecutive year, I'm stuck in camp on my birthday, no thanks to Army. Thanks ah eh. I missed my 21st birthday, my sis's wedding, my 22nd birthday, and in all probability it looks like I'm gonna miss the day my sis gives birth to her son as well. Thank you Army.

The whole day I didn't do much really, I'm the Company Duty Instructor for today but luckily there wasn't any major activities going on, I could even afford a nap in the afternoon just now.

Many thanks to all those who've cared enough to wish me a Happy Birthday, and especially more so to those I rarely hear from, or used to always be in contact with but not anymore, yet remember my day, and also from those near and far away. I would like to say a big thanks to the following people for their wishes and SMS-es and MSN messages and whatnot =) :

For the record, sorry KD, but my dad was the first to wish me happy birthday. Although I received your msg right on the stroke of midnight. Heh.
And yes Amirah, your wait 'til midnight just to be the last person to wish me has paid off. You ARE the last. Haha. Sanggup seh.

Denise and DeNephew

I've got great news: Abang Ikam has become Uncle Ikam yet again! My heavily-pregnant cousin was admitted to hospital on Friday night, and gave birth somewhere circa midnight to a healthy baby girl on 07/06/08 (nice number eh?)

Welcome to the World, Nur Insyirah!* =)

That's for Deniece. Now, in about 1-2 weeks time, it's my heavily-pregnant sister's turn to give birth to DeNephew, but what his name is, I'm not sure yet. Is it possible that out will pop yet another ZUL? o_O

Now I'm no longer the only one in my family to have a birthday in June!!! =\

A preview of my sis cradling her niece maybe 1-2 weeks before she starts cradling her own son

POP! goes the recruits

Already 2 months plusplus has passed, and yet another batch of recruits have passed out. It seems like only last week that I've seen them enlist, all blur and scared, the lowest life-form on Earth and now they've gone on to become more confident soldiers, already no longer 'recruits' but 'privates', albeit still one of the lowest life-forms on Earth. As Platoon Sergeant Khaliff once made us recite when I was a recruit and getting giddy with excitement having just passed out as a private:

"REPEAT AFTER ME: Private not big f**k"

What a party-pooper.

And so it has come to pass, that my 3rd batch of recruits have come and gone. I hope I've trained them well, just as I've trained the other 2 batches before them. This batch certainly holds certain memories for me. They've caused me a lot of pain, yet a lot of satisfaction too, in training them and seeing them improve over time. They can be a bunch of irritating irritants who irritate irritatingly because of their never-ending teasing over the SDC girl (don't ask), yet they were sweet (sweet?that's just GAY uh) enough to present me with a gift on their last day: A copy of FHM Magazine, June Edition O_O haha. And its not just the magazine per se, there were personalized handwritten messages for me inside. Of course, I'm more curious about reading the articles and the messages written in the magazine, nothing else. And I also had the honour of being the Contingent Sergeant-Major in their Graduation Parade just now, a first for me.

After the Parade, they had a crazy celebration, grabbing us commanders and throwing us up in the air and all over the place. Geez! And as I prepare for the enlistment of my 4th batch this Friday, and I step down from my post as Platoon Sergeant and my successor Alex takes over me, I reflect: 1.5 more batches and its ORD OH!!! =)

One two, buckle my shoe...

Howdy dudes and dudettes! Been a long time since I've updated this blog, I know, so here's a special issue on my shopping spree! I spent an entire Saturday with my sporty (and sporting) girl cousin Hikmah hunting for new boots to wear... multiple has been the times TKH has had a game and I couldn't join 'cos my boots dah nazhak and were simply unplayable. Spent a bucketload of bucks on my new footwear too, such that I totally blew away my savings and my buffer amount in the bank is dangerously low. So off I went to Peninsula to hunt for the cheapest bargains for the boots that I wanted to replace my Old Faithful, the Nike Mercurial Talarias which I bought approximately 2 years ago. I decided that if Carrie Bradshaw could have her Manolo Blahniks, I could have my Mercurial Vapors too. And adidas. At least I need them. The pictures below are the current shoes I'm using, taken when they were freshly-purchased but they're gettin worn out fast. With holes! O_O

And THESE, ladies and gentlemen, are the replacement footwear which I deem worthy to replace my worn out Nike Total 90's and Mercurial Vapor Talaria's. The adidas +F10s are still being used though. I hereby introduce thee to my new Nike Steam II FG Sport Red/Gold/Black and Nike Mercurial Veloci Turf Orange Peel/Obsidian/White to replace my worn-out and holey Nike Total 90 and beloved Chrome/Blue Nike Mercurial Talaria. Why so many boots, and what's the difference you ask? Well the red ones are proper football boots for playing on the field, and the orange ones are specialized turf shoes for...well, AstroTurf pitches. Flashy and flamboyant colours I know, but I AM admittedly a flashy and flamboyant player. After all, you can only be young once...

Hole-y Cow! Even reinforced stitching didn't help
Ole Faithful
As you can see, I wear out my boots fast
My Complete Collection... plus Ole Faithful

Don't ask. This was my mom's idea.
My first time ;)
