As the headline says, I'm a mixed bag of emotions right now.
Fact 1: Two of my friends, Khairul Clan and Arep TKH, got engaged and married respectively yesterday. I attended both ceremonies, and Alhamdulillah everything went well.
Fact 2: I woke up this morning to the news that my uncle, Wak Jaafar, telah kembali ke Rahmatullah. I am greatly saddened, and it is really horrible to see arwah's children, all grown-up married men save for the youngest, break down and cry over the loss of their father. It was all I could do not to break down as well.
Although Wak Jaafar is my dad's half-brother, we have always treated him and arwah Wak Mat, his twin, as our natural eldest uncles. His children were our cousins. No differentiating, even though they were from a different father to my dad's siblings. Although it wasn't unexpected, to be honest, since Wak's health has been deteriorating and he had slipped into a coma prior to passing away, it still came as a horrible shock to us. Wak Jaafar passed away today, 2 months after his elder twin Wak Mat passed away in late November last year. I guess being part of a twin, deep down inside he must have felt a horrible loss... more than anyone else... when Wak Mat passed on. Now he, too, has left us. Semoga Allah mencucuri kedua-duanya dan bertempatkan mereka di golongan para Mukminin, Syuhadah, dan Sollihin. Amin.
My dad informed me of this.
Both Waks passed away on the morning of a Monday.
Both passed away at approximately 6am.
Both passed away in hospital.
Both passed away on the 23rd day of November, and February. 2 months apart.
The number 2. The sum of a set of twins. Yet another sign of the miracle of Allah.
