The 3rd day of Aidilfitri this year was spent visiting my paternal relatives, i.e. to say my dad's side. As aforementioned in the previous post, this is usually done on the first day, but because Yayi was staying over at our house, it meant the first day was spent hosting people, instead of us going out and visiting, as is the norm. So we brought Yayi along for visiting...
At Nyayi Mek's house in Queenstown. Nyayi Mek is my late maternal grandma's younger sister. Here she's greeting her brother-in-law, my paternal grandfather
Us brothers taking a pic with Nanyi Mek (also known as Nyayi Beg Mal to me because Beg Mal once slept at her house... helps me to remember the names and differentiate btwn my different grandaunts)
A touching moment: Nyayi Mia, (also known as Nyayi Ketupat to me because her ketupats are nothing short of fantastic... a once-in-a-year treat for us) another younger sister to my late grandma, asking for forgiveness from my grandad and vice-versa... this was really heartening to see
I swear this is soooo typical of his mom, i.e. my sister. She likes to pose too!
'Aqil is really enjoying the plush carpet
...and the sofa too...
...so comfy we put on his songkok, and he didn't bother removing it from his head...
...so can u really blame us if we felt compelled to join him?
I told you 'Aqil wants to be just like me... here he is pictured with my shades [which he was to break later in the day... ='( ]
Kuchi kuchi koo!
Sis with our only niece Mardhiah. Dunno what my brothers are up to in the background
My turn to Kuchi kuchi koo~
We were holding onto different children for a reason: Hilmi was with Beg Mal because he's his favourite uncle... and Hilmi is very excited by motorbikes, just like my brother. 'Aqil is with me because he seems to be developing a keen interest in football, always looking for a football whenever he sees me. Mardhiah with my sis because err well they're both girls, Fikri with his dad because Fikri's very interested in computer games.... just like his dad.
At the carpark of Wak Man's house... Wak Man being the eldest brother, my dad being the 2nd in the family
My dad was in work clothes because he was teaching that day... the kids already had a costume change because they were never going to last in one outfit for one whole day, and Beg Mal... well. You ask him.
