TKH Game 35.

A game against a few nice guys... and what a game it is too! We even had our boy Khairul back from Australia with his freshly-earned degree!

I'd psyched up myself totally for this game... prepared well the night before, I carbo-loaded myself with several bananas, hydrated myself well... and even got (relatively) sufficient sleep! All this to prepare myself for the winger's role I'm bound to play the next day... and also bearing in mind I tend to perform horribly for morning games... until Yusri told me that I was gonna be playing as Goalkeeper the whole game. Meh -_-'"

Anyway game was played at First Toa Payoh Secondary School.

Thought it was gonna be AstroTurf pitch, but turns out it was all grass... but the pitch wasn't bad at all. I was hyper, as u can expect, what with all my preparation beforehand... but almost turned up late for the game as Aizad decided to continue sleeping earlier in the morning, and I was pillioning him.

We scored 2 goals first, before controversy! Farhan dived low and blocked a cross with his shoulder, and opponents were awarded a penalty! A left-footed guy strode up... at this point in time I applied psychological pressure by wasting time and moving up and down the goal-line to disrupt his concentration. He shoots, I dove low to my left... and saved the penalty! Hooray!

A few mins after that, we conceded yet another penalty. And this time, they scored. Not much I could do, for I saw the striker literally 'rembat' the ball with the top of his boot, and at my shoulder height at that. Oh well.

The match wore on, and we scored 5 more goals to win by an overall 7-1 score.

Overall, great performance, TKH is getting better, and I'm pleased with my performance today. Made a couple of cracking saves, saved a penalty, commanded my penalty area, remained calm and composed and even tricked one of their strikers who's chasing a backpass to me with some nifty footwork... which is what I'm supposed to be doing as a winger, not a goalkeeper. Shows what a difference a couple of bananas and enough sleep beforehand can do to enhance your performance... if I do say so myself. Heh.
