Freaky Friday

I woke up at 5am this morning, literally under the dark moonlit sky, greeted by the sight of thousands of twinkling stars, in an open clearing in the middle of the jungle, breathing in the cool dawn air. Such a beautiful sight that can't be found in mainland Singapore, and it will be one of the few things I'll truly miss when I ORD in 3 months time. It's right up there with waking up at 4am on top of a mountain to witness dawn arising in Taiwan.

Went through the Battle Innoculation Course with my face painted with a special design: a green base, with the words ORD painted in black on it. Heh. Rubbing more salt into the face of my recruits, who still have 2 YEARS to go. Haha.

In the evening, I agreed to meet Syida for dinner and to visit her grandma in hospital. What I wasn't counting on was to meet almost her entire clan there and all her siblings! And in the end, what I thought was gonna be a catching up session during dinner ended up being dinner with all of them. Gee. It was awkward for me initially, but to their credit, they had light-hearted banter with me, though I suspect its due to the fact that they thought I was her bf or something. Geez. I had to endure ribbing by her brother (her sis asked him if he wanted to 'interview' me!), and her brother's gf ("we'll leave you for some privacy" she said), and her uncle... sheesh. I just looked at her, and she looked at me, we shrugged our shoulders, and rolled our eyes. For the last time, we are good friends, with connected links, her sister and my brother are friends, her sis's ex is my bro's good friend, she's friends with my 2nd cousin and we have some common TKGS and Victorian friends. It's a small world. That's all k. Nothing more.

Talkin' about small worlds, the bed opposite of her grandma's in Tan Tock Seng Hospital turned out to be the aunt of my fellow TKH-ian Faizal! He came complete in TKH jersey. Hmmm. Small world indeed.

I'm excited about my plans for tomorrow night and Sunday night!!! =)
