I went to Tampines Mall instead and didn't plan on ter-bumping into KD, but did.

I didn't plan on running into friends and cousin while talking to KD, but did.

I didn't plan on meeting her parents, but did.

I didn't plan on sending her home, but did.

I didn't plan on hanging around long, but did.

I didn't plan on ending up sipping drinks behind her backyard, but did.

I didn't plan on entering her house at her parents' persistent invitations, and I'm glad I didn't!
