New Flavour! Blood-flavoured porridge!

Day 2 Post-Surgery:

It's been 2 days now since my surgery, and food has been somewhat of a problem for me. I have to go on a soft diet, porridge and such, and that's all fine and dandy, 'cos my mom makes some incredible chicken porridge. But eating just porridge alone won't cut it; I could at best, nibble the chicken despite it already being minced, and I'm left feeling perpetually hungry. Besides, blood still oozes out of my gums, so I tend to taste chicken-blood porridge. So I do my best to cope with it, adding asam pedas ikan to the porridge to restore some semblance of normalcy. Oh how I miss my mom's cooking.

I also went out to buy a 1.25L tub of macademia nut ice-cream, and some nutella. I spread first the nutella, den ice-cream, on the bread and devoured 3 slices of it with some difficulty, thanks to the limited space with which I could open my mouth. But boy, was it heaven! For once I didn't taste blood, and the ice-cream was good for me too, the coldness hopefully helping the wound to close up faster.

I'm awaiting with keenness the day I can enjoy brownies... and cookies... and fruit-tarts again =)
